Statewide Engineering, Inc.

Civil Engineers - Planners - Construction Managers

Kirby Holton, RLS

Kirby Holton began his career in the early 1970's as a Survey Party Chief with Statewide Surveying Company. At that time Statewide was only a small surveying firm struggling to compete in a very competitive market against larger, established firms. Over the past 30 years, Kirby has gained valuable experience in boundary surveys; route surveys; topographic surveys; right-of-way determination, design, and acquisition; domestic water system improvements; sanitary sewer system improvements; storm water management; erosion and sedimentation control; recreational facilities; residential, commercial, and industrial developments; street/road improvements; drainage improvements; construction supervision; construction inspection; and construction management.

Kirby’s technical experience, as described, encompasses a wide variety of projects and many years of experience. Kirby’s responsibilities now include the supervision of all field survey crews to gather field data necessary for design, reduction of field data to layered digital design files, preliminary layout of proposed improvements, and determination/design/acquisition of right-of-way or easements. Kirby’s experience as a Real Estate Appraiser is also very valuable to clients of Statewide in the determination of fair market value of property to be acquired to facilitate the proposed improvements.

Kirby’s major emphasis of responsibility is associated with street and drainage improvements funded by the Georgia Department of Transportation, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Community Development Block Grants, and Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) Programs. These type projects typically require extensive research, field surveys, difficult drainage design, and numerous parcels of right-of-way/easement acquisition.

Again, Kirby is a very valuable member of the Statewide team always willing to assist a client with questions and issues.
